My story starts when I found out I was pregnant we were so happy. I went for my first ultra sound and it showed a very healthy baby, we found out that he was a "BOY", and his due date was August 7th, 2001. I loved being pregnant everything was going great my kids couldn't wait for there little brother to be born.
On June 19th, 2001 I was 32-33 weeks gestation. My water broke I had to stay in the hospital  on bed rest they put an IV in and gave me needles for his lungs. I was also given a nitro-patch this stops any labour from happening so the baby has a chance to grow more. On June 27th, 2001 i had made it to 33-34 weeks gestation, I had bad chills at 3 am they took me off the patch and gave me something for the fever I had because I had an infection they put the baby monitor on to check Lucas' heartbeat and it was very fast at first in the 200's they told me it was because of my fever. I kept an eye out on the monitor and noticed at 8 am the baby's heartbeat dropped in the 90's I called the nurse back and they told me I was going to deliver today I called my Mom and Husband my husband had to stay home with the kids because that day was the last day of school. So my Mom and the nurse packed me up and brang me over to the labour room they put me on pottissin (sp) and started labour and the pains were so bad I called for my epperdural (sp) when I was getting it I felt his head drop, thank god I got the needle then they rushed me over to the delivery room and by that time my sister Debbie had arrived so my Mom and sister viewed the delivery. I delivered Lucas at 12:31pm the cord was wrapped around his neck, he was limp and bluish purple and never cried they started to work on him right away as they were taking me out of the room I said "COME ON LUCAS I LOVE YOU".
The dr came in and said they got a heartbeat and got him breathing again but his chances were very very bad. All my family was there at this point. I asked to see him and they took me to him my oldest sister Angie called the preist to baptise him and he did. Everyone from my family and Barry's family was there, I was so happy my kids got a picture together, we all did but I wish I had a family photo done. He was having seizers right away even with all the medication this was not good I was told. Sick Kids Hospital did there checkup on him but there was nothing they could do either so me and Barry made our dicision we didn't want him to suffer no longer, they took him off the ventilator at 7:15 pm and he breathed on his own for awhile, then he passed away in my arms at 9:06pm we all kissed him and said good bye, but I couldn't leave him yet so we stayed with him I watched the nurse give him a bath she took more pictures cliped some of his hair stamped his feet and wrapped him all up so I could hold him again.
The time came I'm not even sure what time it was I had to say GOOD BYE until his funeral on June 30th, 2001. I had an out door funeral it was hot and sunny that day I never had a showing but me and Barry and my Mom and His Mom went to see him for the last time I gave him his last kiss and said Good Bye again. Then he was buried under some tree's in a baby section of the cemetary. We visit him all the time  and talk to him and bring him gifts.
WE MISS YOU SWEETHEART!
