OMG i still get hyped up thinking about my concert! my o-town concert was at
the scranton cultural center on 3/11/01! me and my friend got there about
4:00 and waited in line for more than 2 1/2 hours in the freezing cold until
they finally let us in around 6:30. while we were in line this lady came
around and stamped certain ppl's hands and she stamped me and my friends! i
was so excited! i thought it was to meet the guys or something. but nothing
every happened with the hand stamping anyway, i was a bit upset. but anyways
when they opened the doors everyone ran in since it was general admission. i
ran so fast. i was so freakin' close to the stage! like 3rd row at first but
then got pushed back to 5th i was so happy! this place really sucked though.
it was so small and everyone was so crowded together! i thought i was going
to die! not to mention i was surrounded by so many rude girls. all they did
was push and try to get closer to the stage! i wasn't letting anyone get
infront of me! lol! after an hour wait lugo came on! he was pretty cool and
hot! then marianna or whatever her name was...she was okay i guess. then
about a 20 minute wait until they announced o-town was coming on! everyone
went nuts! when i saw them i was like so in shock...they were so close! i
got so many good pictures! i swear i made eye contact with trevor and dan!
they performed all for love, take me under, baby i would, sexiest woman
alive, the painter, girl, love should be a crime, all or nothing, then left
and came back out to do liquid dreams and every 6 seconds! im pretty sure
that was the order of the songs. jake and ash played their guitars on love
should be a crime and for girl they did this awesome puff daddy thing and
money money money part! it was so cool. they pick a little girl to go up on
stage while the sang the painter. she just sat there! i woulda been much
more excited if i was in her place! hehe. but it was reallllllly awesome and
i'm so sad it's over!!!! i still cant get over how close i was! just wanted
to share my o-town experience with ya's! i'm looking forward to seeing them
again sometime soon.

                                                                             The Time of my Life
                                                                     By Jackey Humphrey-Straub

It was the day of February 26, 2001, the day I had been to dying for!  I was down at the Redding, California Convention Center waiting for the O-Town bus to arrive.  Well, okay let's start from the beginning so you know how I got here...
On February 9, 2001, it was an extremely cold day for Redding, California.  It was about 29 degrees, and it was the only time -- well at least it seemed it was the only time-- that it snowed here in Redding.    So, anyway, here I am on this cold day.  Waiting and waiting for the tickets for the O-Town concert to go on sale.  Finally, after four days and three nights of waiting in the blistering cold, February 12 arrived and brought me tickets.  Somehow, I ended up with 7th row tickets, but at least I was going, right?
Ok, so this brings me to my day, February 26.  I missed school to go to the center where the concert was being held, to wait for the guys to come.  I got there at 8:00 am, and waited.  A bus pulls in, but it's ABC "making the band" camera crew.  Then another bus about an hour later, and it just turned out to be O-Town's back up band and opener.  So, I continue to wait, and I see this huge bus pulling in.  (This was about two hours later)  I knew, I just knew, it was them.  I started flippin' out! And I saw Dan, and Jacob through the window, but they never looked out.  After they pulled into their spot, I stood behind the block off section (which is still about ten feet away from their bus) and waited for them to get off the bus.
That day, there had been a ton of people that were a part of the crew going back and forth, carrying things in and out, and stuff.  There were a few hot guys on the crew.  After about 5 minutes without a sign of the bus moving, and no life seemed to be on it;  I see someone walking through the parking lot carrying a guitar.  I just thought it was someone from the crew, and looked at him, and thought "DANG, he is soooo hot!"  then suddenly, it clicked and I screamed "OMG, it's Ashley!"  and me, and the other three girls that were there waiting for O-Town that day begin toward him.
He said, "hey guys, what's up?"
And all I could say was, "OMG, I love you!" and just looked at him amazed! okay okay, I know, how lame am I, but he got me off guard!
He signed the girls' books and stuff they had, and then looked at me and said, "Do you want me to sign anything?"  And since I had already met him at an autograph signing that he had when he came home the last time, I just shook my head no, and said, "Can I just shake your hand?"  Okay, how dumb am I?  'Can I just shake your hand?', he was probably thinking, 'what a freakin' psycho!'  Oh well though.
Then I talked to one of the security guards and she told me that Ashley planned that, and had the bus drop him off at the entrance, so he could surprise us.  I mean, how sweet is that?  Later on --about a half an hour later-- the bus door opened and out jumped Jacob, Dan, Trevor, and Erik! I screamed bloody murder and they turned around and waved and winked.  It was great! But I was mad about one thing, when the other guys got off the bus, my camera went dead, so I only got pix of Ashley, but they are great pix!
Later that night was their concert, and it was the best thing I have ever seen!  It was better than the Creed and Britney Spears concert I have been to.  (And Britney's concert was great! So that is saying a lot.)  Ashley performed the song "NAME" bye Goo Goo Dolls, specially for his town.  He did it because he was performing in the same spot that he had graduated two years before.  ANd the song "NAME" was the song he sang at his graduation.  He played the guitar and sang all by himself.  It was amazing.
I know many of you may think that Ashley is my favorite, I just had a surprising and great encounter with him!! But I love them all equally!  I am always and forever an O-Town fan!  The concert was the best! And the guys just seem so cool! :)  Please, if any of you hard-core O-Town freaks want to chat with me please e-mail me at otowNsyncFREAK@aol.com.  I would love to hear from you, and here are some of the pix I took that day....
