Eternal Love
“Nikita.” Operations sighed impatiently.

Nikita ignored him not feeling up to dealing with him today if she could help it. She was feeling a little bit out of it today and was not in the mood for ops attitude today.

“N-I-K-I-T-A!” Operations bellowed at the top of his lungs. Not caring that everyone else was sitting around the briefing table as well.

Nikita slowly raised her head to focus on the man in front of her who had been her superior for more years than she wanted to count. It had actually only been 6 years but those 6 years had been hell and if it weren’t for Michael she would have given up long ago on this life, if you could call it a life.

“Yes Sir?” Nikita asked patiently giving him a wry grin. She glanced at Michael quickly to see what his reaction was and noted only slight humor in his eyes. His face, of course, gave nothing away. The rumor in section had it that Nikita was the only one able to read Michael at all. To everyone else he was a blank screen. Nikita grinned at that forgetting where she was for a moment.

“Have you heard a word I’ve said?” Ops snapped.

“Of course” Nikita replied with a smirk attempting to annoy Ops further.

“My OFFICE...2 minutes” Ops ordered loudly.

As Ops walked away Nikita rolled her eyes and sat back in her chair watching everyone exit the briefing table. Everyone….but Michael that is.

Nikita looked over at Michael and noticed something in his eyes that she hadn’t seen there before. What was it? Proudness? Approval? Desire? Maybe all three. Nikita flashed him one of her genuine smiles that she reserved only for him…the love of her life…her man.
They had been through so much and yet the still cared for each other so deeply. Throughout all of the pain and betrayals of section they still loved each other more deeply than either one of them could describe.

Nikita was jolted out of her daydream by the familiar warmth of Michael’s warm breath near her neck. She peeked at him from under her eyelashes and smiled.

Michael leaned in closer deliberately breathing on her neck as he filled his nostrils with the wonderful scent of Jasmine from the shampoo in her hair. He blew a puff of breath on her ear as he whispered seductively into her ear,

“My Office after Ops” he whispered making it sound like a lovers plea instead of the order that it was.

It might have been the way he said it or it could have just been Nikita’s way of thinking but she thought she saw a hint of a promise in his eyes as well as his voice.

Michael got up and headed towards his office to await her arrival.

Nikita turned around to watch him walk to his office…her lover….her life.
As she was doing so though she caught someone else doing the same. A shadow in the north corner of comm. Nikita narrowed her eyes as she watched the shadow maneuver so as not to be seen but not soon enough for Nikita not to notice. She hadn’t seen this particular operative in section before so she was probably new here. Perhaps even a recruit. But one thing was for sure-she would never have Michael. Nikita smiled at that thought as she rose from the briefing table and bounced happily up the stairs and into the lions den, Ops office.
