Romeo and Juliette-a love so true

The ghost of the characters-haunt me and you.

I, as Juliette-and you, as he

The play had started-without the count of three.

Suddenly in love-with a world to fight

Hearts of armor-under the spotlight.

A shield and sword-to shelter the fear

A shattered sound-from the drop of a tear.

Look up and smile-the audience is staring

They watch the scene-but no one is caring.

Play the part-on life's big stage

Watch life unfold-from the turn of a page.

A prohibiting life-of a secret cry

Forbidden hearts-trying hard not to die.

The sky grows black-with a breeze of death

You kiss my lips-as you take your last breath.

Our hands locked together-release and fall

I try to stand-I try to crawl.

The hearts beat weak-then suddenly still

This love can't survive-while an aim to kill.

There's no applause-for this love...just rage

Lay down to surrender-on life's cold stage.
