Boogie Man

So many hopes and fears-of the World today

So many crimes unknown-noone to pay.

Hearts broken,life stolen-babies taken

What kind of World-are we makin’?

Can’t we just close our eyes-and remember the day

When we were young-and tried to say...

"I’m scared of the dark-I need a light

The Boogie Man’s under-my bed at night."

We were young minds-with Fears unknown

Afraid to sleep-in bed alone.

Now,we’re older-and fears are new

The Boogie Man’s gone-but the Darkness grew.

So much Hate-all around

Comforting Hearts-can barely be found.

Terrorism,Hatred-Death and War

What the hell-are we here for?

To destroy Earth-and all mankind?

Why is Love-so hard to find?

That Terrorist,once-was a small child

With skin so soft-and a touch so mild.

Who cried for a bottle-and his mommy’s touch

And had a favorite toy-that he loved so much.

But aged to be cruel-and forgot how to feel

For innocent breath-he longs to steal.

Why can’t he sit-and remember when

His fears were young-and he knew no sin?

The Boogie Man scared him-but only at night

During the day-it was all alright.

Why take that away-from young minds today?

Who wish to dream-who wish to play.

But the World is full-of constant fear

We fear for those-we love so dear.

The Boogie Man leaves-when the sun comes out

But we awake to a World-with so much doubt.

The Fear remains-night and day

Of a World gone bad-that spins the wrong way.

Young minds,now,afraid to wake

For the Boogie Man,now-is no longer fake.

He haunts day in-he haunts day out

Do you think this is what-Life is about?

Life should be smiles-and full of Love

With Morals and Dreams-held high above.

But I feel like the Child-who fears the Night

Begging for Morning-to make it alright.

With the covers held tightly-over my face

Praying for an Angel’s-sweet embrace.

For the World,I fear-and can’t understand

Has become that terrifying..........Boogie Man.
