"Pastor Poppa Joe" Mcgillis -
established Sweet Wind ministry three tears ago in the Lillooet-Shalalth area . Born again at Street Church, a Foursquare Gospel Church. Later to go to First Nations Bible college. Pastor Poppa Joe Mcgillis is the only First Nations pastor and evangelist in the Lillooet area.
Our Mission
* To minister to the people of First Nations the teachings of the gospel of Jesus.
* To fill the commission given to us in the gospel, to feed the people and bring awareness , with our twice a month serving the community free hot-dogs, juice and coffee in our area.
* To bring Christian music to the people, by sponsoring musicians on outreach. From time to time organizing larger outdoor community concerts and dinners open to all people and denominations.
One example of our impact
We feel one of the greatest achievements to date that our ministry has seen is a group of 10-15 year olds came to the Lord with the help of our efforts, and has stayed under Christian leadership even though we are no longer able (financially) to get to the remote location on a regular basis anymore. Praise God for those children.
