About Me
My swimming history:

You may think that someone who plans to swim thousands of kilometres must be an amazing swimmer. You may even think this person is fast. Or, even, that this is a competitive swimmer who is bored.

I am neither of those.

Untill I was 10, I could bearly swim. I would only wade out into the water. If I went over the depth that I could touch, I would sink.

Eventually I figured out how to do some sort of front crawl. It was simular to doing regular front crawl head up, but not kicking or pulling properly.

When I was in high school, I was on the Cross Country Ski team.

I moved part way through high school. The school I moved to did not have a ski team, the area bearly gets any snow. I joined up with the school swim team, figuring that this would alow me to learn how to swim.

I was on the team for 2 years, and while there were no records broken by me, I did bring my freestyle time down 15 seconds in those 2 years.

When I was in college, if I needed to vent frustration, or get over the bordom, I would go to the pool and swim. I would stop when I got tired, or when the time was up.

In the summer of 2005, I swam across Callander Bay, about 4km on Lake Nipissing, near North Bay ON.
Why am I doing this?

Some people wonder why I do alot of things.

This is one of them.

I am not doing this to break any records. I am not doing this to raise money or awareness for anything.

I realy am not doing this to get in better shape. Of course, that will happen.

I am doing this out of boredom. I dont like doing lengths. I find that you get nowhere, and also, I do have a problem keeping track of how far I have gone.

This is a great way for me to track how far I have gone.

It also gives me somewhere to go.
Other swimming related goals:

1) Swim from the Manitou islands to Sunset Point on Lake Nipissing -- about 8-10km

2) Swim across Lake Nipissing -- about 50km

3) Swim around the world... nonstop. -- About 50,000km -- (yes, it is almost impossible, but if I can figure out how to sleep without drowning, I will attempt it.)
