Once upon a time...

Someone discovered how to write.
People started to write down accounts of their lives.
Then...they began to write down things they imagined.
And literature was born!

Now there's a whole world of literature to dig into,
and people who love to read it and talk about it and teach it.

I'm one of them...

About me:

These autobiographical things are really hard to write. So...where to begin? I was born in Portland, Oregon in 1964 (and I'm not afraid to admit it) and saddled with the name of "Victoria Ann.". My mother is from London, England, and we lived there from when I was age 2 until a few days before I turned 4. From there, I grew up in Utah, where I graduated from Bonneville High School in 1982. I won lots of awards and was way too proud of myself for it all, so we won't talk about that. I was, however, Miss Riverdale 1982, which gave me the opportunity to learn the parade wave and throw candy at people. I completed my degree  in English with a Communications minor at Brigham Young University in three years, thanks to the beauties of the Advanced Placement Program. During that time, I met and, after six months, married my husband in July 1983. As soon as I finished my degree in 1985, we moved to the Seattle, Washington area, where I started work as typesetter and associate editor for a publishing company. Andy was born in June of 1986. We moved to Olympia later that year, where I worked as editor of a weekly paper, the Olympia News 52. Then we moved to Texas in 1988, and Sara was born there in 1989. The following year, it was back to the beautiful Northwest. Then I completed the circle by moving to Portland in 1992, where the family has been ever since. I spent a couple of years as editor of Portland Family Calendar, and I helped found Portland Family. Now I'm a graduate of Portland State University with a Master's in Education degree. We are moving to Kalispell, Montana this summer, where I will teach at Flathead High School. In what passes for my spare time, I look after my family and yes, I actually do have a novel in the incubation stages. It has a beginning and an end, but only the bare bones of a middle.

That, of course, is the nutshell version. If you really want to know more, try the links below.
