I propose a series of lectures given by senior (although not necessarily) members of the Order. The lectures would be on a range of subjects and can be at the discretion of the presenter. The idea is to impart knowledge to other members of the Order in a relaxed an informal manner.
Some of the subjects that spring to mind are spells that not everyone uses, or can use, such as NES, WGS, almost any of the CWC Library spells etc . Another idea could be the Libraries themselves, how to navigate what to expect when you get there, any dangers etc. Another might be player housing and the costs involved. The subject is completely up to the presenter.
The lecture material could be gathered from a variety of sources including other sites (which should be credited) and help files as well as personal research and experience. The lecturer may wish to have material to hand out such as papers with web links, or scribed spells or components so that those attending can practice. The lecture should be no longer than 15 minutes and should, wherever possible, be prepared for delivery beforehand to save time. The lecture should be NON-lethal to younger wizards, but dangerous presentations may take place as long as the safety of attendees has been addressed.
The lectures will be presented in the Order room to prevent unwanted intrusion from Non Order players. Not only will Order members learn they will also have the opportunity to meet other members.
The lecture could, if the presenter wished, form the basis for an article in a newspaper, which could earn the lecturer additional money and kudos.
I will pay 5 royals for each lecture presented, plus I will add each lecture to the Lodgers website if the lecturer wishes. (this would be a good way to get the website traffic up too)
I will provide food and drink if required and will assist the lecturer in anyway I can (except demonstrating how to die) with preparation of the lecture. We all have -something- we know more about than other Order members, now is your chance to prove it and share the knowledge.
Interested? Send me a mud mail and we can discuss it.
