One important factor in education is to remember that all people in the school building have feelings and opinions that they bring with them to the classroom. Too many people seem to forget that, and in the process of not acknowledging the emotions of others, create conflict and adversity in a place that should be free of stress and anxiety. My philosophy of education attempts to provide a framework for creating an emotionally responsive classroom. The concepts, ideas, and theories are outlined to represent my own teaching style for teaching in a multicultural setting. I have focused on eight key concepts that address practices that reflect emotional competencies for individuals and groups. |
