New Philanthropy Event! | ||||||
Tri Delta’s teaming up with Interfaith Community Partners by inviting Tri Deltas, spouses, friends, and neighbors to attend ICP’s seventh annual theater benefit at the Theatre of Western Springs, Tuesday, April 22, 2008. The event features a substantial wine-and-hors d’oeuvres reception at 7:00 p.m. followed by Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit, at 8:00. The play is intellectually challenging and emotionally immediate. Professor Vivian Bearing comes to assess her life and her work with insight and humor in ways that are transformative for the audience as well as the characters. Moving, funny, and wise, the play is about love, knowledge, death, grace, and redemption. So, what can we Tri Deltas do? Put the date on your calendar and send invitations to friends. Click here to download a ticket order form and communication flyer for any other organizations that you are active. For additional information, please call or email Julia Smith at 708 246-1331 or mss.smith@juno.com. Remember that a personal phone call or query, “Want to get together for dinner and a show?” is most likely to get a positive response—whether you’re talking to someone in your office, church, health club, bunco bunch, book group, or a friend in the supermarket aisle. Let’s start now—the sooner the better, and the more the merrier. Interfaith Community Partners is a coalition of 13 churches in LaGrange, LaGrange Park, and Western Springs that have joined together to provide friendly visitation, telephone reassurance, and assisted transportation to older adults as well as a caregivers support group which meets monthly. About 100 trained volunteers provide services to more than 250 older adults (care partners) in 18 communities. We can help them by increasing attendance at their annual fundraiser—though assistance in soliciting donors, sponsors, and other more hands-on activities for the benefit are welcomed. Please plan to participate in this easy evening of fun with friends, a great play, and a good cause—three benefits for the price of one! |
