It’s flower time again, and this year marks a change of vendors!  For a variety of reasons (all of them financial), we have decided to turn to Goers of Hinsdale.  Although Goers tends to be pricier than Costco, Wal-Mart, etc., the Goers green house and garden shop historically offers a very high quality product, and many of you shop there anyway.  Our prices will be higher this year (as they would have been with Shady Hills), but Goers has offered us a nice discount, which we are able to pass on to you.  All of the products listed on our sale sheet will be less than the retail prices you will find at Goers after our sale.   Remember, 100% of our proceeds go to The Ronald McDonald House at Loyola University Medical Center and The Cleft Lip and Palate Institute at Northwestern University Medical Center.  Please copy your forms and give them to your friends and families.  Goers is very excited to participate in our fund raising endeavor, and we want to make a successful first year showing for us and them!                                                                                 Anne Garabedian

Some of the flowers offered

Pandora Geranium: This is a TULIP flowered geranium and each one of the little florets that make up the blossum are  shaped like a small, cupped tulip.  It is sometimes called a Rosebud Geranium, but whatever the name, the uniquely shaped, salmon pink flowers are always an eye catcher.  It is a vigorous grower that has dark green foliage with crinkled edges and a glossy finish.  Please note that these are only offered in salmon color, not pink as the picture depicts.

Swan River Daisy: Lacy fernlike foliage with small, blue daisylike flowers that bloom all summer. Plant in full sun to partial shade.  Grows 9"-12" tall.  Great companion plant for pots.

Licorice plant: Licorice plant is a popular accent plant in containers.  It has silver gray foliage, leaves about the size of a quarter, is viney and will branch out.

Tuberous Begonia: Full double flowers all summer.  Plant in partial sun or shade.  Grows 8-12" tall.  Colors available are red (shown), pink, yellow or orange.

Alyssum: Spreading plant that blooms all summer.  Accent plant. Good for sun.  Grows 5" tall. Comes in white and is great in containers or borders.

Sweet Potato Vine -- Blackie:  Deep purple leaves on a trailing vine.  Easy to grow!  Plant in sun or partial sun.  Grows to 6" tall.  Water regularly to keep soil moist.  Can take more sun than the chartreuse variety (below).

Sweet Potato Vine -- Chartreuse: Easy to grow! Chartreuse leaves.  Looks great as a groundcover or in a hanging planter.  Popular accent or companion plant.

Lobelia: Deep blue flowers.  Plant in sun or part sun.  Grows 4" to 6" tall.

Vinca Vine: Trailing vine with green/white variegated leaf.  Plant in sun or part sun.
