What does Straight Edge mean to you?
Straight Edge is a way for me to be different and a way for me to feel good about myself.Friends ahd family have fallen to drugs,alcohol and sex. And rather than being inspired to do the same as them,I was inspired to be unlike them,to keep a clean life.
How did you get into it?
I've heard about Straight Edge since I started liking the band Shai Hulud.I didn't know what it was at all really,I just knew they were against drugs and alcohol.Then my freshman year of high school this guy I knew was Straight Edge.He introduced me to it and told me about it more.Then I did some research and from there I decided to become Edge.
What's the sXe scene like in your area?
There aren't many Straight Edgers where I live.Most teens here will find it "uncool" to be Edge.But there is a local venue where you will find a bunch of X's.There are only about 5 at my school,and very few elsewhere.If you listen to hardcore or punk,or some form of that music,you will know about the sXe scene and will recognize it,but it's not a big thing out here.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love music, I play bass and guitar and love to listen to lots of music.I like to go to shows when I can (and when I have 7 dollars to spare.) I like running/sprinting I run track and cross country and I weight life in the summer. I'm a huge computer geek,I love computers and I try to keep up with technology. I like everything from hardware (building pcs)and software (programming,graphics)and of course gaming (FPS and RPG)
Music tastes?
I listen to anything I like. Mostly hardcore,and emo style bands. I like some nu-metal,metalcore...anything that sounds good!(but not any form of rap,country ...none of that stuff!)
Fave bands?
Don't have favourites really. But bands that have hit special spot would be Atreyu, 18 Visions,Thrice,Nodes Of Ranvier,and Hopesfall.
Best ever show?
Most memorable show was 18 Visions. I think Fate Thirteen was there too,but 18 Visions were the big bad boys who tore it up.
That's their problem if they want to break Edge.You can't do anything about it, it's the way people are. It is pretty lame though.
First record you ever brought?
haha,I think back in the day in 5th grade I wanted to listen to some music.I never liked music. So my sister brought me 3 tapes to see what I would like. It was Backstreet Boys,Green Day and Everclear.I didn't like Green Day as much because of their language but I liked Everclear and the Backstreet Boys,all that pop stuff =p Then it ALL changed from their
