I've been committed to a poison free life since January 2003, but I've only recently realised that I want to be labelled Straight Edge.
What does Straight Edge mean to you?
To me, it's about having a choice,and not just following the masses.It's about self respect,and as a part of that,clean living.
How did you get into it?
I smoked some pot a couple of times and realised it was horrible,and not how I wanted to go.I was still happy to drink alcohol after that,I was never much of a drinker,I never liked being drunk.It took a really awful hangover to make me realise that I never want it in my life again,and probably never wanted in the first place.
What's the sXe scene like in your area?
There's no scenes at all!No rock scene, we never get anything.I don't know about the next big town,I'm probably moving out there by this time next year so I'll see.At least they have a couple of good venues,hosting several decent bands.
What are some of your hobbies?
Learning (slowly!)to play bass and guitar,listening to music,Playstation....just the usual.
Music tastes?
I'll listen to anything...I don't particularly like R&B/garage,I'm more of a rock/indie/metal fan than anything else,I guess.
Fave bands?
Aerosmith,Lagwagon,Silver Sun,Easyworld,Radiohead,Dashboard Confessional,White Stripes,System Of A Down,MxPx.... just starting to get into Minor Threat.
Best ever show?
Well, I've only been too two so far (see the whole 'lack of scene rant for the reason why!), so I'd have to say that Toploader was the best one,because Easyworld were supporting.
Each to their own. People change,although it's never good to see someone breaking a lifetime committment. I'd be more dissapointed if it actually happened to be one of my friends breaking Edge,but in the end it's their decision.Although,since I don't actually know any other Edgers, it's not likely to happen ;)
First record you ever brought?
That would probably be 'white on blonde' by Texas,when it first came out about 8 years ago.
