Writing News
Sale to the Denizens of Darkness anthology. Look for "End of the Road," a retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, set in the Old West . . . and somewhere really really hot!
Kate Hill, editor and publisher of Anxiety Publications, wants to publish my novella The Ruak as a special edition in her new chapbook line. Publication date TBA.
Jon Hodges, editor and publisher of Blindside Press, has just accepted my poem "Erinyes II: Megaera" for his new print magazine, Wicked Hollow, due to be published in November 2001.
My story "The Sasquatch Party" will appear in Undaunted Press' forthcoming anthology, The Night the Lights Went Out in Arkham. The anthology will contain Lovecraftian stories set in the 1970s, some funny, some scary. What I know about Lovecraft couldn't fill a thimble, but as a child of the 70s . . . hey man, freak out on my brain! "The Sasquatch Party" is based--very loosely--on an actual bush party that took place near my hometown--a party that resulted in well over one-hundred and seventeen arrests and is still remembered by old-timers (those of us in our late thirties and early forties) as THE Sasquatch party. I suggest you don't miss this one!
After a rather embarrassing mix-up involving lost e-mails and out of order acceptances, the gracious editors of The Midnight Gallery and Somniloquy have both agreed to publish "Waiting in the Dark." The story will appear first in Somniloquy (April 2001) and as a reprint in The Midnight Gallery (NFD).
"Home on the Range" will appear in the August 2001 issue of Blood Samples; and "Marvellously Modern Millie will appear in Blood Samples #3.

Extremes 2, in which my story "Frostbite" appears, has just been released, and the anthology has already garnered one Stoker nomination, for Michael Huyck's excellent story, "El Cura." Congratulations, Mike!
The anthology Nemeton, which features my story, "Hecharawa," is now available from Silver Lake Publishing as both a download and a trade paperback.
The anthology The Witching Hour, with my story, "Something Bad," is also available from Silver Lake Publishing as both a download and a trade paperback.
"A Love Story" is now up at Vacancy, the Webzine of Spokenword Epiphanies. I had great fun recording the poem and I think it shows! Click on the link, sit back, and listen. Don't miss the chilling cover page, or the editor's spooky introduction. Good work Jon!
