England Cricket Team practice at College Grounds
The visiting England cricket team led by Michael Vaughn had a practice session at St. Benedict's College Grounds today. Steve Harmison, Monty Panesar, James Anderson and several others of the English team were seen hard at practice amidst some enthustiastic Benedictine students at Kotahena while the team was playing a three day warm up game against the Board Presidents XI at the CCC Grounds Colombo.

It was great to see the English players and perhaps a historic occasion being the first National Cricket team to have a practice session at the college grounds. Due to the redevelopment work that were carried out at the grounds, it is considered as one of the best cricket grounds by many and the Board did not have any hesitation in scheduling the practice session today at Kotahena.

We are also happy to mention that the Laison Officer for the visiting England team is our very own former college cricketer Chandra Rodrigo. Chandra too was seen busy with the English players.
