Scenario The year is 1755 and England is at war with France. You are a frontiersman of English heritage who has responded to the call for a local militia. Captain Josiah Parker has called up the militia to determine the strength of the enemy in this area. No one in the group is familiar with the area but you have heard that it once had English settlers but they have since been burnt out, chased off or killed by the French and their Indian allies. You are also looking for a location to place a fortification that will oversee the river. The river is the main pathway of the Shawnee who are moving down the river to raid the settlements downstream. A proper overlook with cannon could perhaps stop this activity. You are few in number and with little food, powder or ball. All persons not in your party should be considered hostile. Do not engage the enemy or let them see you, as surprise will be lost. Leave little or no sign of your passing. The success of the mission will depend on each man doing for the others. God speed. |
