When one thinks of how best to compensate, reward, and motivate employees, there are a number of issues and problems that can be thought of. Companies are constantly looking for ways to reduce costs. The traditional state social system is failing, and the politicians and governments are failing to provide adequate solutions. New relationships are needed with unions because of increasing global competition and companies’ ability to outsource or locate operations outside of their home country. Globalization has put pressure on how to reward employees. The needs and wants of employees and the life style changes need to be considered as the workforce becomes increasingly diverse. Employees have to receive benefits that they may find useful. There also needs to be a better understanding and education among all the stakeholders such as employees, employers, consultants, governments, and third party providers of benefits.
