Stanley E. Zuravel Sr.

Stanley E. Zuravel Sr., 63, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C.

 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - He was born April 25, 1938, to Stanley and Mary Zuravel in Akron, Ohio. He married Roberta G. Lees on June 14, 1958, in Akron.

 

For over 30 years he worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., starting in Akron, then transferring to Freeport and on to the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. in Fayetteville, N.C., where he worked until his retirement. Upon his retirement he taught technical trades at Piedmont Community College and Fayetteville Technical College in North Carolina.

 

His memberships include the Freeport Jaycees and the Moose lodge of Fayetteville. He enjoyed traveling and spending vacations with his family.

 

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Stan (Meg) Zuravel of Freeport, David Lee (Ginger) Zuravel and Mark Zuravel of Fayetteville, Michael of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ed (Pam Vanatta) of Greenville, N.C.; one brother, John of Akron; two sisters, Olga Rollins and Margaret Epling of Akron; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Rebecca and Ryan Zuravel of Freeport and Hope Zuravel of Boone, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harry, Anthony and Daniel Zuravel.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fayetteville with Father John R. Kelly officiating. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
