*Pt. 23*

Jeff & Ashley went to his Dad that morning before he left for the hardware store-
"Dad, I have something to tell you-" his Dad raised his eyebrows,
"What's up ?" Jeff put an arm around her shoulders,
"We're gettin' married." eyebrows went up a little higher,
"Really ? When's this ?" Jeff looked at Ashley,
"Soon. This summer-" his Dad lit a cig,
"You won't be 18 for another 10-11 months." Jeff stood firm,
"What difference does it make ? You'll sign for me-" his Dad nodded,
"Yes I will. Is there anything else ?" Jeff & Ashley looked at eachother, Ashley spoke up,
"I might be pregnant-" his Dad nodded again, asking her,
"Do you're folks know about this ?"
"No Sir, You're the only person we've told." Jeff said,
"We're waiting 'til her Dad gets home." his Dad picked up his thermos,
"Well, congradulations. And Jeff, you know I expect you to be responsible and take this very seriously."
"I know Dad, I do." his Dad walked over to them, giving them both a hug, then left for work-

Danny, Brandy and Jaime Sue got to town, everyone went to the pond to swim & hang out- Jimmy couldn't help but notice how much Brandy had grown up and filled out since he'd last seen her- he was trying to be cool, but he couldn't take his eyes off her-
Jaime Sue was 13 now, but could pass for 16 or 18 too- Jesse called it, "Down home, fine breeding" he still loved to tease her, and now he had more ammunition-

Ashley and Jeff had kept their news to theirselves for about 5 minutes, when the others heard, they were shocked, but warmed to it when they saw how happy they were about it- Jesse had jumbled feelings, he was glad to have the ditraction of Brandy and Jaime Sue-

Jimmy wasted no time letting Brandy know he was into her- she was into him too- she loved his eyes, and loved how long his hair had grown- he loved her eyes more than before, her black hair was down to her waist, and she had a cute, slender & cat-like body-

Chris liked Jaime Sue, but he was too shy to let her know. she liked him too, but was also shy, sothey'd stare at eachother when the other wasn't looking-

Tom had started seeing MarshaLynn again, (Mrs. Leary, Kennys wife), so he wasn't around too much that week- he was meeting her down the road from her house & they would get a motel room for a few hours while Kenny worked late-
She would tell Tom about how she wasn't happy with Kenny-

Meanwhile, Kenny and Jada had this huge flirt going on between them, nothing was going on tho-

Jesse had stopped seeing Kammie and was now seeing two girls, Daisy Marie and Katey-

Ashleys Dad showed up at the end of the week, he had done an extra run, which got him home 5 days later than expected-
Giving Ashley and Jeff time to talk about what they wanted to do, and wait for her period to start, which it didn't- she was worried about how her Dad was going to react, Jeff didn't care, he was marrying her.

Brandy and Jaime Sue rode Dusty around alot. Ashley let them ride him whenever they wanted, it helped them get around a little, Jimmy & Chris was their other means of transportation-
