MORE OFFROAD MINIVAN FUN |

For all the folks that didn't believe I was serious about offroading in a minivan, think again. Here is my 1987 Grand Caravan in a local offroad area. Just look at the photos and see, there is dust flying. There aren't but a couple of shots of the van sitting still. And no, I didn't get stuck. But I did scrape the underside. The van is Front Wheel Drive only, and yes, those are 50 series street tires on the front. Click any photo for a larger view. And remember, if you try this with your vehicle, I'm not accepting any responsibility. I accept the risks of my own actions. Not those of others. I've been doing this for a long time. I've even done this with a Ford Pinto... |
Yes, it is traction limited with just FWD and with those low profile street tires on, but with a little thought and know how, lots of obstacles can be overcome. If I can't get up it one way, I'll try another... |
You can bet I was watching that inside edge pretty closely. And a little speed for a short distance... And then, my son was looking up at the van for a moment... Once I saw he was out of the way, I rolled on down and didn't scrape at all... |
See, I told you I can go almost anywhere I want to. Just pick a line, use a spotter at times, and away you go! |
Up and over, down and around, like my friend Bernie keeps saying, "Don't Mess With The Minivan!" |
Yeah Skippy!!! Dry lake beds are nothing but fun!!! Won't say how fast, but, faster than you'd go on the highway!!! I'm not Gary Donovan or Paul Smith. I don't drag race, but I'm every bit as unique as they are. A little more fine print... Watch out for others. Be courteous on the trail. Don't laugh, the next minivan in your mirror MIGHT be this one... |
