A Tid-Bit About the Author Always unsure of which route to go with her life, and accepting the possibility that she was without any goals, Tabitha Ragsdale gave it a shot at each talent that she had. She has always had a feel for the arts though no one knew it. As a child she would do a little doodling and drawing. And as a teen-ager in her early teen years she did some poetry, which she kept to herself. She didn't take it serious. To her it was just something to do Always liking colors and creativity, by the time she made it to her late teen years she found that she was interested in the salon business. Though she knew nothing about hair and had no desire to learn, she was always fascinated with nail polishes and all the beautiful colors they came in. Tabitha put working in the salon on the back burner as did she her writing and drawing. She thought that working at the bank and doing accounting at art supply stores was where she was supposed to be. She found out later on that this couldn?t be further from the truth. About to become a new mommy, Tabitha found herself dreaming again about the salon business. But what could she do about it? She dare not touch anyones hair. By this time nail salons had become a booming business, which is where she felt she belonged. For a while she thought about going to school for interior decorating. But being as shy a person as she was back then, she just never got up enough nerve to do so. As time went on, she began to slowly release and let go of that shy little girl that she held onto so tightly for at least twenty-seven years of her life. Eventually by age twenty-eight, Tabitha finally built up enough nerve to go to cosmetology school and decided to take a course in manicuring. She was told that she was one of the top students in the class, especially when it came to creativity, because this was something that came natural to her. Tabitha has been doing nails now for eight years and has enjoyed every minute of it. But still she knew within her heart of hearts that there was still something missing even though she had no idea as to what it was. About a year ago she found herself sitting at her computer day in and day out venting through poetry once again. She'd e-mail a couple of people a piece of poetry here and there. Unbeknownst to her, there was one person it seemed to have touched the most. That person is the one who told her that whatever it was she had to say, that the world should be filled in on it. Tabitha found herself writing more and more poetry and was eventually invited out to do a poetry reading at a book signing for the publisher and CEO of Right Away Inc. At this point she had built up enough nerve to send off a couple of pieces in which one of them Icons won her the editors top choice award and for her poem to be published in one of their elegant books of literary arts. By now she was ready to write a book, a novel. Tabitha has just finished her first book Buttered Toast and is currently working on the Sequel. |
