                                                                  TRUCK RODEO RULES

1. 18 Wheeler Rodeo Rules:

   * These rules apply to all 18 Wheel Trucks at the Rodeo.
   * All vehicles must be raced by a person wearing the nationally approved uniform.
   * The entry must have been made this current scouting year.
   * Each entry should have competed at the Troop level before entering this Rodeo.
   * Once a vehicle has been through weight inspection and passed, it will go to the holding area.
   * No test runs before the event.
   * Only a vehicle's driver and members of the race committee will be able to handle the cars and trucks during racing.
   * Trucks must remain on Table when not on the track for a race except for repairs at the Pit Stop or when withdrawn from competition.
   * Only Race Officials and the drivers of the race will be permitted inside of the roped off racetrack area and the Truck parking area.
   * If a car has problems running more than once that the Pit Crew cannot resolve, it will be disqualified. Interfered with cars will receive no penalties and heats will be rerun.
   * The Official Scorer has the final decision making authority in all race disputes.

2. Restrictions:

   * No loose materials, no taping weight down to car.
   * No movable weights or liquids are allowed.
   * Only dry lubricant may be used, such as dry graphite or Teflon. It must be applied by Pit Crew In the Pit     Area.
   * Care must be taken to assure that no lubricant will soil the track or interfere with subsequent races on the track.
   * Wheels and axles may not be modified in any way. (Other than removing burrs and molding seams and rough spots.
   * Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.
   * No spring suspensions allowed.
   * Details and attachments may be added providing they are securely fastened and do not exceed the maximum length, width, height and weight specifications.
   * Trucks must be freewheeling and may only be propelled by the force of gravity.
   * All trucks are subject to inspection by an official inspection committee to determine eligibility.
   * Official Pit Crews may make adjustments to the weight of under weighted/over weight entries as part of the registration process.



3. Truck Construction Specifications:

18 Wheeler Trucks must conform to the following construction specifications:

1.   Maximum Weight                          600 grams

2.  Maximum Length
                         Cab Length               19.05 cm
                         Trailer Length           35 cm

3.   Overall Height
                        Cab height                 11.5 cm
                        Trailer height             11.5 cm


4.   Maximum Outside Width              9.5 cm

5.   Maximum Width Between Inside of Wheels   4.5 cm

6.  Minimum Clearance Between the Chassis & the Track  0.95 cm

7.  Springing - the scout truck shall not ride on any type of springs.

8.  Wheels - NO modifications are to be made to the wheels, except painting and a light sanding.

9.  Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.

10. Details such as Decals, Painting, Trailer cargo are permissible as long as these details do not exceed maximum weight of the truck. These details must also not interfere with other racers.

11. Only Wheels and Axles provided in the Scouts Canada Kit may be used.

12. Axles and wheels may only be lubricated with a dry lubricant such as dry graphite or Teflon. Silicone spray, WD_40 or oil is not be used as it may soften the plastic wheels.

13. Inspection - Each Scout Truck must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it may compete. All efforts will be made to ensure the truck can race but the inspectors have the right to disqualify those Scout Trucks, which do not meet these specifications.
