The idea was born on Succos of 2002. Sitting around the table in our sukkah, my 17 year old brother suddenly said, "Okay, everyone, I'm starting a new business. It is going to be called 'Yiddishe Delivery'." The plan was that a business would be created to provide families with traditional foods and other paraphanelia for Jewish holidays. This would benefit unobservant families who would otherwise have no celebration without the basket they received from us as well as easing the Yom Tov (holiday) preparation for observant Jews. It would also serve as a gift service to remind a loved one how much he or she means to you by means of a beautifully arranged "Yom Tov in a box". After discussing the idea for a while, we moved on to a new topic, never imagining that his business idea would be realized.
