What exactly is a tabernacle? “Tabernacle” is a fancy word for a tent or temporary structure. In the Old Testament, Moses was commanded to build a Tabernacle in which God was worshipped. Every detail of the structure was carefully given by God and constructed by faithful workmen so that the building itself would teach men how they could come to God. Tabernacle Baptist Church meets in a normal church building (not a tent!), but our goal is to build our lives by carefully following God’s Word.
What exactly does a Baptist believe? Tabernacle Baptist Church takes its beliefs from the Bible, and no other source. The traditional core of beliefs that separate Baptists from other groups are known as the Baptist Distinctives.
What does “independent” mean? Independent implies that Tabernacle is a church that follows the New-Testament pattern of autonomous church government. Tabernacle Baptist Church is not a member of any denomination, convention, association, or fellowship of churches.
What Bible do you use? Tabernacle uses only the King James translation (KJV) of the Bible in all services and programs. For more information, read “Why We Use the KJV.”
Who is your pastor? On November 30th, 2003, Tabernacle Baptist Church, in a duly-called business meeting, unanimously recognized the call of J. Robert Early, and chose him as our new pastor. The Early's would be glad to assist you or answer any questions you might have about our ministry. |
