Get thee behind me, Internet?    Your Webman speaks
The Internet is not only a great information resource, but it is mostly morally neutral, if not always pure in content. The Web is a perfect example of good triumphing over evil, and proof that people the world over strive to live on the moral high ground as they perceive it.  That perception has great commonality across cultures and belief systems.  Self-evident truths are generally, well, self-evident.

To satisfy my curiosity, I conducted a very unscientific study to prove this notion about the Internet and the world that drives it. Using Google I searched the Internet on various subjects alternately; God-vs-Satan, Jesus-vs-Devil, Holy Spirit-vs-demonic, Church-vs-Coven, and so on.

The results were not surprising, to this optimist, anyway. God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit came away with 445 million results, while Satan, Devil, and demonic returned a mere 140 million hits. In nearly every search with an opposing good/bad contrast, good won out, handily.

One exception which demonstrated the flaws in my "study" was a good-vs-bad search. "Bad" returned more than twice as many results as "good." However since the word "bad" is often used to mean "good" nowadays, like "really bad music," "motorcycles," or "clothes," the results become quite useless.  Also, when BAD is an acronym, that really blows it. "British Association of Dermatologists" was sobering.  I smelled coffee when I saw that.  I guess this means "down with God" was in the "God" results, just as "down with Satan" would show in "Satan" searches. Oh well.

Despite these "minor aberrations," I like to think that God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit own the Internet, and determine its direction.  Just press ahead with eyes open, and enjoy.

Welcome!
Read articles by Luis Palau
From his early days sharing the Gospel on the streets of Buenos Aires to the "Great music & Good News" festival evangelism ministry
that has had a positive impact on audiences around the globe, Luis Palau has continually inspired the millions who have heard his
message of faith and hope. In 2007, Palau is keeping an ages-old faith fresh and alive for the 21st century.
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Sometimes we ask for blessings we actually do not deserve; we consider ourselves too righteous and too holy.  The Word of God tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling; this implies that we should approach the throne of God with a humble spirit.  Verse one says "Blessed is the man who does not walk with or seek the advice of the ungodly, nor prevent sinners from finding Christ, nor humiliate our brothers and sisters in Christ"   Blessings from God are contingent upon our response to the Word; when God says, "Do Not", that applies to every living human being.  Living for God is a serious matter, and walking with God should be done with care.   Our behavior should never bring reproach upon salvation; when we open our eyes in the morning, we are immediately representatives of our relationship with Christ.  We are His ambassadors here on earth.   Loving God brings joy in the heart of the Christian and his mind is filled with an intense desire to obey the Word and to meditate on the careful walk he has in Christ.   The blessings of God give us a strong founda-tion, like a tree planted by the rivers of water; His blessings make our life in Him blossom and bloom like flowers in the desert.  Our testimony becomes prosper-ous and we lead others into the Family of God.   Ungodly people will not inherit this blessing, but will perish.  Deeds done in darkness will be revealed in the light for the Lord knows the way of the righteous.  Repentance is very necessary to maintain a life filled with the blessings of God; therefore, we should humble ourselves in His presence and consider the benefits of being His children.  One of the greatest battles in the life of a Christian is the struggle to control the tongue.   Ungodly men and women do not care who might be hurt by their words and many innocent people have suffered because of this.  For the blessings of God to pour upon us, we must walk carefully in the path of righteousness; leaving behind all the things that have so easily hindered us, and being in continual pursuit of Him.

Salmos 1
