Taitzu Shih Tzu began in
Rockhampton Queensland and is now located in Mt Eliza, a Bayside suburb
of Melbourne. Leader of the pack at Taitzu is Heather Becconsall. Heather
is actively involved in the showing, breeding, promotion & rescue of
all Shih Tzu and has just retired from the role of Secretary of the Shih
Tzu Club of Victoria.
Heather does not export
dogs or sell to Dealers so no inquiries of that nature please. All other
inquiries are most welcome and pedigrees available on request.
Heather’s love affair with
Shih Tzu commenced many years ago when she acquired 2 pet Shih Tzu. From
there she moved into showing after purchasing a female puppy from the Kachinka
Kennels in Melbourne, Australia. “Essie” aka Ch. Kachinka Smart Casual
was a beautiful dog who titled easily.
“Essie” was joined
by “Jake”, aka Ch. Shemara It’s A Dogs Life, from the Shemara Kennels in
South Australia. “Jake” was an exceptional dog taking the Queensland show
scene by storm, winning In Class & In Show awards. In 1996 he won Best
of Breed at the Brisbane Royal & was the winner of the Pal Puppy of
The Year Quest Zone 2.
Next came “Tiffany”,
and Heather’s introduction to rescue. “Tiffany” aka Ch. Lhashih Tiffany
Kandi was a show prospect puppy that ended up with a family who were unable
to care for her. Heather grew out her stained coat & tamed into a spirited
show dog. At home she is known as “The Swamp Monster” as she loves a dip
in the pond.
“Essie” & “Jake” were
subsequently mated & produced a litter of lovely boys. “Arnold”
aka Ch. Taitzu Free Spirt was campaigned by Cathy Dew & “Rowdy” aka
“Taitzu Golden Boy” was retained at Taitzu as a loving family member and
Stud dog.
“Essie” was mated a 2nd time
and her life was tragically taken short after complications related to
the delivery of the litter. Rest in Peace at the Rainbow Bridge “Miss Essie”.
Currently, Heather is showing
“Bessie”, the daughter of “Essie” from the 2nd litter. aka Ch. Taitzu Maid
Of Memories. “Bess” is a beloved companion as well as a beautiful
show dog. She has a mind of her own and has “opinions” on most matters
including Judges!! At home she holds court on the couch.
“Sydney” aka Naichiu First
Knight is just starting his show career and is showing great promise.
“Buffy” is the baby of Taitzu
at just 10 weeks of age. Born on Friday 13th she is aka Taitzu Devils Play.
