Guys and Dolls
One of the most famous of all musicals was the goal of our next production.  Offering new challenges and creative solutions than I had ever imagined.  The design had to be flexible to hold a large cast, provide over four different locations, and allow enough backstage room for everyone to fit.  My solution was a design I had originally designed for a show called "Beautiful Thing" which called for three different apartmetns.  I turned this design into New York and the apartments into different stores and one into Cuba.  Opened together and you had a sewer or Hot Box Club.
Looking back, the design had many problems, but the overall idea was a good one.  I think with a real budget and maybe some more materials and help this could have been even better.  I really liked the overall design and a few additions would have really complimented it.  I enjoyed some tasks such as painting a sunset, building a 14foot folding palm tree and a 3'd sewer.
With what little help I had, we started painting months in advance but with all productions it came down to the final rushed hours of construction.  I had been designign this set for almost 8 months before production started, so I had a pretty good grip on what I felt I wanted to create, but the production size suprised me in more ways than I can explain.  I learned a lot and took that to creat my next endevours.

-small, compact design, wiht many different combinations of sets
