The Market |
The market is more than just a place or an activity. It is an institution. During the day, the back streets of Pakchong turn into one sprawling, rambling market. The market is a place to socialize, sell your goods, and buy your perishables and clothing. The narrow paths are swarming with shoppers and crowded with pavement vendors. At best, the market is colourful and exciting. At worst, it is a sensory overload. The vendors yell out their bargains and the many aromas and odors can be an olfactory assault. Certainly, a trip to the market is not to be missed. Besides, you have to go sooner or later anyway to buy supplies. |
