The Big Day (!) |
Here they are! The big day captured forever on digital and brought to you, dear viewer. I haven`t posted any of our traditional film photos, I`m afraid, as finding a scanner in Pakchong is just about as difficult as you might expect. Fortunately our photograper took about a hundred shots on digital, the results of which you will see here. Some of these photos also came from our digital camera, with Ryota and Krista starring as photographers. Let`s begin with their shots, shall we? |
This is a partial photo of the Brookfield United church where we wed. This church is quite significant to my family, as there are pedestals donated by my great-grandparents and stain-glass windows donated in their memory. It is also where I stood as a bridesmaid at my grandmother Shirley`s wedding to Roy. |

Having the wedding here felt perfect. Ryota and I originally planned to have a private beach wedding either in Thailand or in Bali. I`m so glad that we went home instead. Having family and friends with us on our day was the best way to celebrate, and getting married in the Brookfield church gave everything a more sacred feeling.. |

If I hadn't had to reduce these photos quite so much, you would see that the wine labels say `celebrating the marriage of Tamara O'Leary and Ryota Katayama, August 2, 2003`. But alas, you can't see that, can you? |

And just like that, Ryota became part of the family. I can`t tell you how his eyes lit up when the girls first called him `Uncle Ryota`. |

This photo was taken during the benediction given by Reverend Harrison. |

I loved our cake like only a bride can! Not only was it gorgeous, but it was also a very edible carrot cake which my mother decorated beautifully with fresh roses. |

I get to hang out with my friends and Ryota finally gets to put faces to stories. |
