Here are some tips for your enjoyment! 1.Metranomes are boring, so use a cd that you like as a time keeper instead. Use the headphones so you can hear youself as well as the drums on the cd. 2. Learn to transcribe music, this comes in handy. 3. Get a teacher, they know everything! They'll teach you proper technique as well as a million other important things. 4. Be individual so you can express yourself through your drumming. 5. Take care of your hands and ears. OTherwise you'll go deaf fast! (I learnt the hard way) 6. Listen to good and bad drummers because you'll always learn something new. 7. Practice perfectly, because bad practice just digs you into a deeper hole. 8. Join a band! I found I could do a great many things with a band that I couldn't in practice. 9.Incorperate differant genres into your style (Jazz comes in very handy with death metal.) 10. Push yourself inpractice and make mistakes! |
