FOR ANNI |
Anni was a special friend, even though we never met. We lost her over a year ago - despite her battle for life. Anni never failed to make an impact on anyone with whom she had contact - many of us taking her for granted until she wasn't there anymore. I add this poem for Anni and everyone who has suffered a loss: |
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning's hush, I am the uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine by night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. |
