PECAN SANDIES

 

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 egg

1 cup pecan halves

1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

confectioner's sugar

 

The Process:

Start oven at moderate 350 F. Grease 2 cookie sheets well. Dust lightly with flour.

Melt butter or margarine in saucepan and stir in sugar. Beat egg and add with pecans, flour, and vanilla.

Mix thoroughly. Drop from teaspoon onto prepared cookie sheets, about 5 inches apart, to allow for spreading.

Bake 8-10 minutes.Remove from oven. Let cookies stand just 1 minute. Use wide spatula to remove to cake rack to cool.

Sprinkle lightly with confectioner's sugar.Makes 3-4 dozen cookies.
