SCHOOLDAY RAISIN

COOKIES

 

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 CUP SEEDLESS RAISINS

1 1/2 CUPS ROLLED OATS, UNCOOKED

3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR, FIRMLY PACKED

1/2 CUP COOLED MELTED SHORTENING

1 EGG, SLIGHTLY BEATEN

3/4 CUP SIFTED FLOUR

1 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER

3/4 TEASPOON SALT

1/4 TEASPOON MAPLE FLAVORING

 

 

THE PROCESS

RINSE RAISINS AND DRAIN.

COMBINE OATS AND SUGAR.

STIR IN SHORTENING AND EGGS.

SIFT TOGETHER FLOUR, BAKING POWER, AND SALT.

ADD TO FIRST MIXTURE.

STIR IN MAPLE FLAVORING AND RAISINS

DROP BY TEASPOON FULLS ONTO GREASED BAKING SHEET

BAKE IN HOT OVEN (400 F) 8-10 MINUTES.

REMOVE TO WIRE RACK TO COOL.

MAKES 3 DOZEN COOKIES
