Nickolas Gene Carter was born in Jamestown, New York on January 28th 1980.  He was born of his two parents Jane and Robert Carter.  And from then on his mom knew that she had something special on her hands.  Nick's parents owned a local club/bar when he was still in diapers.  It was called The Yankee Rebel.  Little "Nicky" danced and DJ'd with his father when he was still a young one in diapers.  He would dance and sing and just put on a show for the locals.  People who came in often always expected to see Nick dancing around on shows.  Nick, his mom, and dad lived in an apartment above the club.  Jane claims "It was hard, we always were away from Nick.  I constantly went upstairs to check on him.  And as always he was sleeping tight, and comfy even with the music blaring dowstairs."  Later on they realized this wasn't the best way for a kid to grow up so they decided to move, and guess where, Tampa, Florida.  Where most people get noticed for there talent.  And Nick still was in Elementary school at this time.  And there in Tampa Bay he continued to persue his dreams.  There he starred in his school play "Phanton of the Opera."  And he also stared in local commercials for the Florida State Lottery and the Money Store.  Besides his acting talent, Nick couldn't resist the urge to croon.  So he decided to work on his singing career.  He became a featured vocalist for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, pre-game show where he sang "Star Spangeled Banner" for two years, man, thats alot of singing.  He also managed to pick up his first award in 1992, which was the The New Orginal Amateur Hour.  After that, he went to audition after audition to get a record deal or just get recongnized.  Most of the auditions were at the local fairgrounds.  He also tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club(Disney's New Club).  Then things starting heating up for young Nick.  He was getting more mention and was getting reconized, but he still had ways to go.  Well, by this time young Nick got a phone call saying that he got the role in Mickey Mouse Club.  But at the same time, he got offered to join the BSB. FORTUNATELY, he turned down the Mickey Mouse Club to join the BSB, which, at the time was not yet named.  They then named themselves after a popular hangout called the Backstreet Market.  And the rest is history.
