  This site is dedicated to my father Ted Rodney Qualls Jr., born April 18, 1922, Herrin, Illinois who served as a radio operatorwith the Nineth Air Force.  He entered the service as Pfc Ted R. Qualls 36619141 attended the Army Air Forces Technical School and completed the course for Radio Operators and Mechanics as prescribed by the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command at Sioux Falls Field, South Dakota.  He received his diploma on the twenty-first day of June in 1943.  He also received training in Oklahoma, Florida, New Jersey and Texas.  His unit boarded the Queen Mary and headed for Europe. He unit traveled throughout England and France until the end of the war.
