On Wednesday, July 12, 2000, Tut-Tut's first themed resort, The Mirage, will open its doors (or tombs) to the public.  Located in the middle of the Candy Desert on Tam-Tam's Candy Isle, the newest Tam-Tam Resort makes guests feel like they are in Egypt.
The resort's entrance is a lifesize replica of the Sphinx featuring the likeness of Tut-Tut.  Inside the Sphinx is a luxurious lobby, several gift shops, and The Mummy's Tomb, the latest themed restaurant in Tam-Tam's cafe chain.
Behind the Sphinx are twenty pyramids; each rise to nearly fifteen stories tall.  The pyramids have up to 200 guest rooms apiece, giving the resort a total of 4,000 hotel rooms.  Inside each pyramid is a mini-food court which serves a variety of foods from hamburgers to pasta.
For recreation, guests can sail down the Nile River (an actual waterway located through the resort), ride camels in the desert, learn about ancient Egypt, or swim in The Oasis (the resort's main pool, complete with slides, spa, and a wave pool).  Guests may also ride bikes or discover the resort's five main complexes that are themed after historic areas of Egypt.
This gift shop (named after Tut-Tut's mother) offers anything from fine handcrafted Egyptian jewelry to authentic Egyptian apparel and accessories.
The latest Tam-Tam Cafe, The Mummy's Tomb, offers the finest in authentic Egyptian cuisine.  The enormous menu features a variety of entrees cooked by Egypt's most acclaimed chefs plus familiar American foods such as steaks, burgers, and pizzas. The restaurant is located deep inside the Great Pyramid (beside the Sphinx) and has its own gift shop and museum filled with artifacts from ancient Egypt.
