We began like so many kennels with the purchase of a 'Pet' E.S.S. in 1980. From the first Springer the interest grew and extended to attending our first shows, winning our first ribbons and finally the whelping of our first litter. Tanalith Kennels is a joint partnership between myself in Australia and my mother, Leslie Skipworth, in New Zealand. Though only a relatively small kennel in numbers, Tanalith Springers have accounted for countless wins since their introduction to the New Zealand dog world. Both the English and American style Springers are appreciated by us, always with the breed standard in mind, as accepted by the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) and the New Zealand Kennel Club (NZKC) respectively. Our aim has always been to breed and show healthy, sound specimens. Health and temperament being of major importance to us. To date from limited breedings (which is usually one, perhaps two litters per year between the two "branches" of the kennel), Tanalith has bred and/or owned over 25 Champions, 17 of which have been bred under the Tanalith prefix, including many Group and Best In Show winning dogs. Our Springers have been appreciated and awarded by Judges from all over the world including, but not limited to, England, Sweden, Norway, Finland, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, the U.S.A. and Canada.
