DEEP WINTER

She grabbed a slice of deep winter
It was narrow between  sun and moon
She placed it in her day
A carpet beneath tiny feet
She danced around the edges
And was stung by the icy glow
The silence of frozen music
Beckoned her to rest

She laid between the sun and the moon
And melted into their chill
‘Puddling upon the floor

Touched by the sun
The moon knew the night and the day
She traveled in the vapors of time
And faded into tomorrow’s mist
.
