It wasn't untill she went through her first change at an early 14 that she realized that her and mom weren't any less Odd then those people they talked to. Misaki explained to her daughter what they were and the true nature of the world around them, she explained that she was a Bagherra of the bastet like her and that she traveled the lands learning all she could and passed that knowledge onto other children of the Earth Mother, touse against the Unmaker to mend the wounds left from the war of rage long ago.
Achika being a dutiful daughter learned all that her mother could teach her andaccepted the fettishes that she gave her for safeguard. The two traveled for another 8 months, when Misaki was run down in the streets by a Wyrn tainted cop, barely suceeding in throwing her daughter out of danger. Since then Achika lived off the streets, moving from town to town and occasionally hanging with a gang.
Her mother ad mentioned an Inn that was in or around Providence Rhode Island, that she had said she wanted to take Achika too, because she had heard whispers of a safe haven for many of the shape shifting races. She arrived Broke and wandered the town looking for any signs of that Inn or someone or something to make money off of.(like any cat she is a shameless oppertunist, ready to take advantage of any situation the presents itself) Since then the young Bagherra has become part of the Sept of New Hope, though not without quite a bit of discussion.
To say that Achika has gotten to know a few patrons of the Inn would be an understatement. Though like any feline that tends to be moodish, the young woman has made many friends both young and dear. Some have moved on such as Silvestre or have grown disdant like Chantal. And not one to remain Idle Achika has made new friends and has grown clse to many.. Miyako is a Kitsune who had come to the Fianna Inn and the two llived in a house togeather just aways from the Inn, though who's consort is who's depends on which one of them you ask. Then there is Xen...sometimes mentor, sometimes father, most of the time annoying as hell but she still adores him for it.
When not nosing about for secrets or being with Miyako, she is spending time with Tangi, the two having become close friends.. however the panther and fox love to tease Bennie, being the sweety he is and both agree he is so cute when he blushes from head to toe. Most recently however Achika and Miyako have split up into a more sisterly relationship, while her and Tangi have fallen head over heels in love and she now lives with Tangi in the Loft on the MacBlaine property..
There are many sides to Achika, some only few have know or suspect exist. The street-hardened and self-relient Achika with a quick temper and razor tongue, the carefree loving tease of a young woman are what most see. Then there is another Achika.. Kind and careing, adoring to those she allows close to her or those she comforts. The feircly loyal and protective side which also harbors Honor and Duty, for though she is a prankster, a healer, a companion, a seeker of secrets she is just as much a warrior of her people.
Mercy or Pity she rarely wastes upon those she conciders an enemy for she keeps trackof them in two categories those still breathing and those suitably delt with. Achika has many interests including biking, gymnastics, fortune telling and her latest music and being a DJ. Years spent under her mother and then Xen Lu has honed her into a deadly martial artist and swordswoman for her age. Often sparring with anyone she can con into it because she flat out loves it and it keeps her in shape, which is of paramount importance.
Finiky about her apperance much like any cats she prides herself on her apperance and good looks and can become upset when somehow she becomes looking a mess..especially in piblic. Curious about people and things goes without saying she is a cat and all and it tends to lead her into more troubles and interesting experiences.
Yes despite her physical death Misaki has still managed through gile and sheer stubborness to stay in her daughter's life through late. Mother now inhabits the ancestral Katana twilight now carried by Achika and thus boud to her like the sword. This allows her to talk with her daughter and watch her going on's and to a limited degree preceive the imediate area around the sword. Mother loves to comment on things and offer her advice and opinion, so alot of the times when folks think Achika is talking to herself it is because she is really chatting with her mother..
