Lester
(Sir Les Tee Al)
Lester as a strapping two - four week old (I can't quite remember when I took this photo)

By this stage, he was already well versed with being handled by humans, having dogs around, being floated (he had just been moved), having his feet picked up (an idiosyncracy of mine, I hate it when horses won't pick up their feet for farriery) and of course, creep feeding of the really good yummy food - pellets!  Oh, and despite not wearing a halter here, he was halter broken too.  Pretty quick learner I would say.
Back
Max!!
(Maximus Gracias)

Here is Max with his mother, at just under an hour old.  Vienna was seriously knackered after the birth, and really looks it here (with afterbirth still hanging out) and Max is looking miffed that he hasn't mastered the standing up thing.

Notice his dark colouring, he would have looked just like his Dad colourwise, without the white on his back leg.  Even though you can't see it, they both had/have a little white star on their forehead.
Here he is again, Lester on his 3rd birthday back at the start of January 2001
At a trial race in February 2002
Lester is now retired from the Track.  His career was mostly spent shuffling around from trainer to trainer... though he did actually get more starts with the last one than his previous ones.  For his short racing tenure, he didn't do horribly badly, though he never did actually win.

Lester has now been sold and enjoying his new life.
