Star Trek: Voyager - Charting the Final Frontier

The cast of Star Trek: VoyagerStar Trek: Voyager the newest Trek series to hit the small screen on January 16 1995, nine new cast members entered the legacy of Star Trek taking on roles to go where no one will ever go.

With fresh talent on board, a new voyage and a brand new unknown captain - a female captain - they were more than ready to launch off and embark on a new journey. Watching these characters and the adventures they were to carry out would soon become a prevalent event for many people.

Now, in the year 2001 - six years, seven seasons since the newest Trek series aired to contribute to the all so popular franchise of Star Trek - it has finally come to an end. We are certain that everyone will agree that Voyager has definitely made its mark in the world of Star Trek.

Looking back on the earlier days, the show went off to a bumpy start - it was not easy for the show to come this far. From the very beginning the show had its problems - the fact that this new crew did not have its captain to lead them off in this new adventure was a big problem.
In the fifth season, uncertainty that had built around the show's continuity into future seasons had began to embed in many minds. But nevertheless, the show strived forward and continued into the sixth; and before we knew it, it was the final season. Seven - the number that many did not believe would come. But here we are. It had risen above all of that and no doubt - in our minds - it has been nothing but entertaining, inspirational and many other things which cannot be said in words.

Unknown actors, unknown characters - now all familiar; Captain Kathryn Janeway - compassionate, brave captain; Commander Chakotay - once in turmoil now at peace and loyal first officer; Lieutenant Commander Tuvok - always has a logical approach to life; Lieutenant Tom Paris - finally found his place, his home; Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres - excellent engineer and loving wife to Tom Paris; Ensign Harry Kim - young and fresh with a lot of potential; The Doctor - a holographic program that has evolved beyond his programming; Neelix - always there to cheer people up when they're down; and Seven of Nine - valued crewmember with a lot to give.

Star Trek: Voyager has certainly made its mark.
