05/11/2005 10:15 pm Tomorrow may see interest in commodity-based stocks such as OLAM and the new IPO Pine Agritech.  OLAM came out with outstanding results with 9 months revenue hitting $2.56 bln and profit after tax at $48.1 mln. Pine Agritech is offered at $0.575 which is lower in absolute term to OLAM which came in at $0.70 and it has seen interest from reputed investors such as ARANDA and NewSmith.  Both took up 5% stake in Pine.  Target for OLAM for medium term is at $1.00 and for  Pine at $0.80.

05/02/2005 5:15 pm In the face of a Fed rate hike (most analysts in US are expecting a hike of 25 basis points), prices could edge slowly upwards when the market opens on Tuesday.  Much of the rate hike worries have been built into the prices as the main focus is on oil prices which tumbled more than two dollars on Friday.  Venture is back with vengence and may see prices running up over the next few weeks, though not in a straight line, of course.  Recent IPOs have not been doing well and the next issue Eletrotech could also suffer the same fate.

02/16/2005 7:15 pm TAC made headways today although the breadth of the market weakened towards the close. Olam which made a strong debut on Friday closed at 0.815 and looks set to head higher as short sellers may cover their positions tomorrow.  Banks stays firm, although th prices are reflecting the recent reports of strong earnings.

12/10/2004 6:00 am Short-covering may be possible ahead of the weekend as the Dow may a key reversal pattern coming off from minus territory to gain 58 points.  Some traders are talking about a Christmas rally for Wall street and this suggest the bulls are lurking over there.  Here, the focus on Reits is intact and some recent listing such as China Fashion may see interest as major shareholder continues to support the stock with purchases in the open market.  A stable session likely after this week's battering of China stocks.

12/06/2004 6:30 am With the China Oil crisis slowly taking a backseat as the year comes to an end, the focus could be on stocks with growth in an environment of high oil prices and an relatively stable interest rates.  Oil prices fell below $45 per barrel and this is a positive signal for the stock markets around the world.  Suntec Reit and Yellow pages Reit will be traded this week and both received strong support. Pricing for both are at the top end of the range and it shows that given current market situation, interest is in stable stocks with gives good yield.
