Ah, good question. I am a computer programmer who has graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree (class of 2000). I live and work in the very beatiful Annapolis valley.
I'm a professional computer programmer currently working for Progeny Software Inc. A software development company, creating genealogical software and charting programs.
And oh ya, I love video games :-) I have a N64, dreamcast, and PS2 and love to play them. I also enjoy creating games on my spare time. Its a hobby I love even through its a lot of hard work.
TankWarfare is a 3D, multiplayer, turn-based tank game. By 'turn-based', I mean that each player takes his/her turn trying to shoot the other player.
TankWarfare is an effort to create a high quality freeware game that is easy to use, fast, original, and extremely fun. I have worked extremely hard on TankWarfare and hope that I have made the freeware world a better place.
No other freeware tank game I know of allows up to 32 tanks on the screen at once. Making TankWarfare a truely multiplayer game.
TankWarfare is super easy to play. Its a breeze to learn how to play TankWarfare as there is a well organized status screen with buttons for all operations in TankWarfare. This means you don't have to memorize keyboard commands unless you want to, because they are supported too.
A user can now get defense and power-up items during the game. Players can get these by collecting prizes that randomly appear as cubes in the tank arena. There are 3 types of shields a tank could get, weak, medium and strong shields. Or a tank could get an offensive prize such as up to 5 cannons for this particular tank.

I first began developing TankWarfare in Jan 1999. It began as my project for a computer graphics course (computer 3553 X2) taught by professor Dr. R. Giles at Acadia University. After the course ended, I decided to further develop the TankWarfare game.
The latest version is much better than the version I handed in for the computer graphics course. I work on it usually on saturdays or sundays and occasionally on evenings during the weekdays only if I feel up to it. I will continue to develop and evolve the Tank Warfare game in the years to come. I enjoy working on the game and have a lot of neat ideas for future enhancements to the game.
I have done some investigation on how I could improve my status screen/window for controlling TankWarfare. I have a new design made up which should be even easier and more user friendly then the current one is. If I can find the time to implement it, I know you'll love it. Thats all I can say about this future enhancement right now.
I have also done some investigation and have worked a bit with creating a mountainous terrain with hills, water etc. I stopped work on this as it was showing to be a tremendous amount of work I didn't have time for right now. Someday hopefully I'll get back to this and create some really cool arens to play in.
I have a lot of really cool ideas for better weapons and defense items, that will show up in future versions of the game. So stay tuned.

I have developed 3 other video games for the IBM PC.
The first game I developed was a 2D fighting game called 'Bow to the Master'. I used the C programming language along with the Fastgraph graphics library. The compiler I used was Turbo C++ by Borland. The game was a DOS game and ran in just conventional memory (under 1 mega-byte).
The game took 4 months to develop. It is similar to StreetFighter® and Mortal Kombat® of which I'm sure your all familiar with.
My second game was a AD&D, Dungeons and Dragons (RPG) game. This game was for a software engineering course at Acadia, which I wrote with another student. It is called 'ShadowBlade Syndrome'. I used the same tools for development as I used with 'Bow to the Master'.
My third game was originally created for my 4th year project at AcadiaU. It is a Jeopardy™ game. That's right, the famous Jeopardy™ game you watch every night on television with Alex Trebek. It has an 'edit mode' that allows the user to create his/her own questions and play the game with those questions/answers.
