cactus Hi, from Maureen and Jim Tansey! We met in Ipswich, England in 1962. Maureen worked at Footmans Dept Store. We were married in Ipswich, Suffolk on October 5th, 1963. We lived for a few months at 10 Bennett Road with friends, Dave & Pickles Norris. We then moved to 26 St Augustine Road, a bungalow named 'Bruyere'. We came to the states in April 1965 arriving at McGuire AFB, New Jersey. We then lived at 184 Main Street in Leominster, Massachusetts until buying a new home in 1972 at 11 Dale Avenue in North Leominster. We stayed there until September 1993 when work forced us to move to 5110 E. Calle Vieja, Sierra Vista, Arizona 85635. While in England, Jim was stationed at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge. He worked for the 81st Civil Engineers Squadron, Fire Station and then for Personal Affairs handling all Passport and Visa applications. Maureen quit her work at Footmans Department Store and stayed home. Our son Mark was born on October 5th, 1964 at the base hospital. That was on our first anniversary. We owned and operated C & S Pizza, John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, as a family business for a short time.

cat

Jay-Jay: JayJay is our resident cat. He arrived, by plane, in Arizona in April 1997 from Massachusetts. We had Jay Jay from a kitten until we moved to Arizona. Jay is over 20 years old. He is a great cat except for a few bad habits that most cat's have. We tie him out in the back yard, on a lead (leash if your not a Brit). He enjoys eating the grass, chasing bugs and watching the birds! He has always been an indoor cat. His big moment...going 'thru' the screen patio door in the bedroom at 2:00 am to fight with another cat. Loves to walk around the house meowing for no apparent reason but to bug us. Drinking water out of a bucket when he thinks we are not around. Jay Jay loves to go out into the backyard, with a harness and long length of clothesline.
***Favourite Activity: Sleeping and being our Alarm Clock early morning. Favourite Food: Anything we give him? Real Tuna (not catfood) and the water it is packed in.

be kind to animals

It is reported that the following part of the Book of Genesis was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If authentic, it would shed light on the question, "Where do pets come from?"
And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me everyday. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."
And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."
And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names are taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."
And God said, "No problem! Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."
And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it come to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility." And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not always worthy of adoration."
And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey Adam.
And when Adam gazed into Cats eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility. And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved. And Dog was content. And Cat did not care one way or the other.
