Founded in 1957 - through donations from local residents and businesses - Tantanoola Kennel Club held it's inaugural Championship Show in July 1958. The first Club President was Mr J. Stark and the first Secretary/Treasurer was Mr W. (Jack) Clayson.
Located approximately 35 Km from Mt. Gambier in the south-east of South Australia the club holds an All Breeds Championship Show every Easter long weekend.
Held on Easter Sunday, it combines with 4 other shows in the Mt. Gambier/Tantanoola region over the Easter long weekend.
Being ideally situated between both Melbourne and Adelaide, these shows attract a large number of entries from both South Australia and Victoria. On average the Easter show has 600+ entries.
The show is held on the picturesque Tantanoola Showgrounds . Full catering is provided by the Tantanoola committee.
