Articles of Faith

We Believe:

1. ...the supernatural, verbal inspiration of the Word of God; that it is inerrant in its original writing, authoritative in its teaching and absolute in its meaning; the Bible is the only infallible rule for faith and conduct.

2. ...the Lord is one God; He is eternal, self-existing, equal and in perfect unity as three persons; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.

3. ...that Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, took human form through the virgin birth. He is both God and man and is the only mediator between God and man. His substitutionary death on the cross made salvation available through faith by God’s grace. His bodily resurrection was evidence that His sacrifice was acceptable as payment for the sins of the world. He will be the judge over all creation. He is our High Priest and advocate in Heaven.

4. ...that the Holy Spirit restrains evil in this world; convicts people of their sins; bears witness to the truth of the gospel and He is the agent in the New Birth of Regeneration. He seals, endues with power, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, fills, and helps the believer. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is that act of placing all believers into one body of Christ at the moment of their conversion. He gives each believer a spiritual gift(s) for service in the body of Christ. The gifts of tongues, interpretation of tongues, healing, and miracles served their purpose of confirming the authority and message of the Apostles. This, however, does not rule out God’s supernatural ability and providential dealings with people today.

5. ...that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, bringing both physical and spiritual death upon himself and the entire human race. Man is born with this sinful nature and unable to save himself. All need the Savior to be saved from sin.

6. ...that the salvation of sinners is divinely initiated and wholly of grace, through faith in Christ alone. Faith in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross is the only condition of salvation. Repentance is an integral part of saving faith. Evidence of spiritual life should be visible in each believer by obedience to the Word of God, spiritual fruit, growth in faith, and good works.

7. ...that all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God for Jesus Christ. True believers cannot lose their salvation but can be out of fellowship with God and His children.

8. ...in the unity of all true believers in Christ. Together they are the body and bride of Christ. The body of Christ/the Church is made up of many local fellowships/assemblies/churches where God is worshiped, believers are taught, encouraged and discipled, and the gospel is clearly presented. Believers are to glorify God with their lives and to witness of Christ to all men.

9. ...in observing the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion). Baptism is an act of obedience and worship. It is an outward profession of an internal possession. (We practice immersion.) The Lord’s Supper is to be observed as often as we do it — “In remembrance of Him”. It is a time of self-examination. (We observe communion once a month.)

10. ...in the literal resurrection of the righteous unto everlasting life blessed in the presence of God; in the literal resurrection of the wicked (unsaved) unto everlasting condemnation, separated from God.

11. ...that Christ has promised to return and that His return can occur at any moment. Things to come will occur according to the scriptures.

12. ...that Satan/the Devil and his demons (fallen angels) are busy battling for the souls of people. Satan is a created being and is destined to judgement and the lake of fire.
