So you want to know more about
Tanwax Country Chapel....

Tanwax Country Chapel (TCC) is an independent, fundamental, evangelical, non-denominational Bible church. It is associated with Villiage Missions. TCC is located approximately 8 miles northwest of Eatonville, Washington at the base of Mt. Rainier in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

TCC is pastored by Dan Tanner and his wife, Donna. They have three grown daughters (and sons-in-law) and four beautiful grandchildren.

In 1985, charter members began meeting in a home, and the church has continued to grow in size and in spirit.

In 2002, a new sanctuary that seats 200 people was built as 'phase one' of the church's expansion. A large majority of the labor was provided by church members and attendees, praise the Lord! 'Phase two' will be a Christian education buidling. Groundbreaking began in September '07 and the building is already dried-in with windows as of April 4th '08! Please pray for this project - for safety and the Lord's provision.

What People Want to Know About Village Missions

ABOUT VILLAGE MISSIONS

Village Missions is a Christ-centered faith missionary fellowship, ministering to the spiritual needs of the rural and suburban communities of North America. It is evangelical in concept, evangelistic in approach.

The purpose of Village Missions is to provide qualified, spiritual leadership to those rural and suburban areas in the United States and Canada where there exists a definite need to win and disciple people to Jesus Christ through the proclamation and demonstration of the Gospel.

A Board of Directors oversees policies of Village Missions.

THE STRATEGY

It is the aim of the dedicated leaders of Village Missions to provide a Christ-centered community church program capable of involving the entire population.

This is accomplished through worship services, personal contacts in homes, Sunday schools, home and group Bible studies, special youth and adult activities, Vacation Bible Schools, and other activities.

An extensive visitation program on the part of the missionary is encouraged, to the end that every home in the area may be contacted.

The missionary is to become an integral part of community life, winning the friendship and confidence of the people. He is to be the spiritual leader, providing opportunity for all to hear and respond to the Gospel.

FINANCIAL POLICY

Local congregations assume responsibility for housing and as much personal support as possible. A self-supporting local church is the ultimate goal of Village Missions.

The Village Missions Board has established a minimum base support, which is updated at regular intervals. Missionaries are, therefore, assured of a consistent, reasonable income as the Lord provides.

QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum requirement for those seeking appointment under Village Missions are:

A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ;

A diploma or degree from a Bible College, Seminary or the equivalent;

The conviction that God is directing you to serve with Village Missions;

A consistent prayer life and leadership ability;

A desire to carry out this unique missionary-type ministry to the heartland of North America;

An agreement with the doctrinal statement and willingness to cooperate with the Board of Village Missions.

THE MINISTRY

Village Missions conducts a missionary ministry in a local church context by placing leadership in rural and suburban areas of North America.

Each missionary is appointed for an unspecified period of time, ministering in a given location as the Lord directs.

Wives are considered qualified missionaries but must balance their ministry with family responsibilities.

Churches served by Village Missions in the United States and Canada usually fall into one of three categories:

Self-supporting congregations in need of leadership;

Small, struggling groups unable to realize their full potential without financial and leadership assistance;

A totally new work.

The objective is to reach the entire community; therefore, denominational issues are avoided. Missionaries are encouraged to extend their ministries beyond the community of their residence through visitation, home Bible studies, and wherever other opportunities exist.

DECLARATION OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE:
The supernatural and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures -- that they are inerrant and that their teaching and authority are absolute, supreme and final;

The trinity of the Godhead -- God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit;

The personality of God; the personality and deity of Jesus Christ, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man; and the personality of the Holy Spirit;

The resurrection of Jesus Christ -- that His body was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that He ascended into Heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God as the believer's Advocate;

The sinfulness of man -- that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are totally depraved and need a Savior from sin;

The Atonement -- that Jesus Christ became the sinner's sacrifice before God and died as the propitiation for the sins of the whole world;

The necessity of the new birth -- salvation is by grace through faith and not of works; saving faith will maintain good works in the life of the believer;

The literal resurrection of the body, both of the just and of the unjust;

The everlasing blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost;

The evangelization of the world -- the supreme mission of the Church in this age is to preach the Gospel to every creature;

The second coming of Christ according to Scripture.
