MWPP Together

Fics that feature the four friends together, or give an equal focus to each one. There are also a few fics here with three of the four.

A Fair Fellowship of Young Squires (PG) by After the Rain. Sir Cadogan tells the stories of characters in the Morte d'Arthur to four young friends. Quite well thought out; I'd like to see someone use these concepts in a novel-length fic as well. One shot.

A Gutter Rat's Tale (R) by Minnionette. Canon James/Lily, but otherwise pure gen. The tale of how a gutter rat was adopted into the Potter family and christened Severus Snape, and his further adventures. Not OotP-compliant, of course, but quite well plotted and thought out. Novel length.

A Werewolf's Secret (R) by Kimagure. Sirius, James, and Peter try to figure out what's up with their strange housemate, Remus. The Remus characterization is interesting. AU for OotP, and the timeline of WPP finding out about Remus is kinda screwed up. Novel length, possibly abandoned WIP.

The Adventures of Icarus, the Invisible Poltergeist (PG-13) by After the Rain. Includes some teen crushing and a girlie mag. When Remus sits in on a Muggle Studies class, he inadvertantly gives birth to a new Hogwarts spirit. Howlingly funny. One shot.

Again I turn Around to You and its sequel Believing In What You Will (both PG-13) by Along Came the Spider. Pure gen, though the second includes the wedding of Lucius and Narcissa. Sirius' story, from his first year onward. But what's this? He's friends with Snape? I like the way Pureblood culture is portrayed in these fics, and I'm interested in seeing where the author will take the story next. One novel length fic, one novel length WIP.

All Gone Aside (PG-13) by alianora. What might have happened if the Prank had gone wrong. Bitter. One shot.

All This Time (PG) by Sam Vimes. AU in which Snape is Sorted into Ravenclaw and makes friends with MWPP. Novel length, abandoned WIP.

Almost- October Day (PG) by Cate. In the first September of their first year, MWPP have a celebration. Nice and fluffy. One shot.

Being James (PG) by Gehayi. Includes allegations of homosexuality. Peter reflects on the way he really feels about James and Sirius. Excellent characterization. One shot.

The Butterfly Road (PG-13) by Atalanta Pendragonne. The story of the Marauders, as told by Peter. I can so totally see Sirius begging Remus to bite him. WIP, Chaptered.

Career Advice (G) by Green Eyed Lady. Professor McGonagall holds career advice sessions for Black, Evans, Lupin, Pettigrew, and Potter. Well characterized and illuminating. Chaptered fic.

Clean Living (PG?) by Alkari. There's some mooning over girls. James and Sirius come up with a new scheme. Cute and clever. Chaptered fic.

Crossing Bridges (PG) by Tien Riu. Remus Lupin is sent back in time on a desperate mission to kill Lord Voldemort. From a present where he is the last Marauder, Remus finds himself once more eleven and attending Hogwarts for the first time. Quite well plotted. Chaptered fic.

Deny Thy Father (PG-13) by LupinsLittleSister. Includes canon James crushing on Lily and some discussion on sexuality. Sirius has to decide who to choose: his family or his friends. Very in-depth. Novel length.

The Doll Army (G?) by FernWithy. Sirius comes to visit little Dora Tonks with a few of his friends in tow. Cute. Long one shot.

Hello Darkness (PG-13?) by ladyjaida and copperbadge. Includes snogging, and may end up R/S. A MWPP-era fic in which Remus is spineless, Sirius is histrionic, Lily has a weight problem, James is a stalker, Peter's everyone's best friend, and Severus Snape is the most well-adjusted of the lot. It's lots of fun. Chapter 3, the 'WPP finds out Moony is a werewolf' chapter, is worth reccing all by itself. Turns fanon on its head and has fun characterizations. Chaptered, WIP.

If One We Be, What Matter (PG) by txilar. Mostly gen; there's one small slashy reference, though. Thoughts of the older generation at various times. It's hard to explain, but good. One shot.

In Loco Parentis (PG) by penknife. Five children stand on Platform 9 and 3/4 for the first time. One shot.

Letters (PG) by Caesia. AU discussing what might have happened if the Prank had gone as planned. Poignant. One shot.

The Mystery in the Hog's Head (PG-13?) by bruno_greengras. Het is vaguely referred to a few times. How Sirius met Dung Fletcher for the first time. One shot.

One More Mile (G) by victoria p. Some canon James/Lily, but it's not the focus of the fic. Sirius decides who the Potters' Secret Keeper should be. Angsty. One shot.

Pumpkin Juice (G) by irishmastermind. The Marauders make a potion for use in a prank. It's a very nice moment, and the banter is fun. Short one shot.

Remus the Girl (PG) by Take to the Sky. Hints of Lily/James and a small bit of Sirius/Remus crushing. When Peter, Sirius, and James notice that their roommate disappears at about the same time every month, there's only one conclusion they can draw. Funny. One shot.

The Secret of Our Success (PG-13) by YayCoffee. How Fred and George came into possession of a certain Map and learned how to use it. Cute and funny. One shot.

The Slytherin Study Group series by rabbit and ~v~Jinx~v~. Throwaway ref that may or may not be Snape/Lily; otherwise pure gen. It's a bit off, canon-wise; Lucius is in the same year as MWPP and Snape. But it's a humor fic, so that sort of thing is forgivable. The misadventures of Lucius, Severus, Crabbe, and Goyle in trying to figure out their Transfigurations homework. #2.5 is the detention that they get for #2. Very fluffy, without being sappy. One shots and a chaptered fic. The chaptered fic is a WIP that's probably abandoned.

Some Things Are Better Left Unknown (G) by Giesbrecht. MWPP find a spell to send them forward in time to Harry's fifth year. I like the Somebody Else's Problem Charm and Giesbrecht does a good job of including all the implications of this trip. Chaptered fic.

The Speculum Curse (G) by Hyphen. Mention of teen relationships, and someone (I'm not saying who) gets a bit of action off-screen, but it's mostly gen. James Potter is hit by a curious curse the day before a big Quidditch game. I usually don't like fluffy stories focusing on MWPP, but this one is very well done and Hypen characterizes everyone very well. Chaptered.

Stopped (PG) by Gehayi. Includes some references to a past girlfriend. Peter has trouble going on. Numbingly tragic, and extremely well written. One shot.

Summoning Peeves (PG) by Clavin. How did Peeves come into being? I especially like the banter between MWPP in this fic. One shot.

That Minty Fresh Glow (T) by Shinga. James and Sirius have brewed a new potion, and they want to test it out on Peter. Cute and well characterized. One shot.

Three, Two, One (PG?) by beingothrwrldly. James rides the train alone. One shot.

Promises Unbroken (PG-13) by RobinLady. Includes canon Lily/James. What if Sirius had remained the Secret Keeper? This fic is practically the model of what a good AU should be. Harry has his parents, true, but Voldemort is still out there, Peter is still playing both sides, the Aurors are horribly outmanned, etc. I'm not sure about some of the characters' reactions to certain plot points, and one character gets rather Stu-ish, but overall this is an excellent fic. It's novel length; the sequel, Promises Remembered, is a WIP novel length fic.

Sin of Lycaos (M) and its sequel Wolf by Ears (M) by D.M.P. The first fic includes a little flirting, as well as a sexual assault which doesn't get very far; the second one is definitely borderline. four thousand two hundred and sixty (PG?) by kel. I guess it could be Sirius/Remus if you squint hard, but I consider it pure gen. Sirius counting days in Azkaban. One shot.

Growing Up (PG) by narie_the_waitress. Sirius Black, from birth to 17, told in a series of drabbles. One shot.

The Heart Knows Its Own Bitterness (PG-13) by The Gentleman. Small bit of Lucius/Narcissa. The Blacks are having a garden party. From Sirius' POV. Lyrical. Based on Christina Rossetti's The Convent Threshold. One shot.

Wild Men Who Sang the Sun in Flight (PG-13) by lyras. Sirius' final battle. Nice characterization. One shot.

Remus Lupin

A Paris Tradition (PG-13) by Framling. Pure gen. When the ads in the Daily Prophet don't turn up anyone worth bothering about, Dumbledore and McGonagall make their own decision about who they want teaching DaDA.
