Club History:

"History: The Tarannau joined the BCAFL in 1992 and won four of their first five games before two late-season losses to Cardiff knocked them out of playoff contention. After a poor second year, the Tarannau blossomed into one of the League’s best teams in 1994-95, winning the Central Division behind a blitzing, dominating defence. They defeated Cardiff in their first-ever playoff game, but were beaten by Cambridge in the Southern Conference Championship Game, 34-22. Lacking some of the key players from previous years - notably halfback Steve Beard and linebacker Julian Thirkill - the Tarannau suffered through a disappointing season in 1995-96. They bounced back the next season, however, as national coach of the year Pete Eastwood constructed a defence that tied the all-time record by not giving up a point in the regular season. The Tarannau then won twice in the playoffs before a 28-19 loss to Loughborough in College Bowl XI. This past year, with an offense led by quarterback Matt Slimming and national lineman of the year Nick Slater, the Tarannau again won the Central Divison, and beat Cardiff in the playoffs before losing to College Bowl XII champions Hertfordshire."
